Dione Zamora (b.1997) is a designer and artist living and working in Texas. Their work consists of paintings, collages, drawings, and illustrative work, that explore themes of identity within the afro-diaspora, girlhood and femineity, migration, family relations, and placemaking as a form of resistance. Often working with weaving techniques, she explores identity as this interwoven expression of the body. Collaging together old magazine cut-outs, literature, vintage photography, or maps, their work transforms the body into a geographical site, where the body becomes this textural and physical place holding history, trauma, and culture all simultaneously.

Zamora was born in Dallas, TX. She received a BA in Studio Art, and a BA in African and African Diaspora Studies from The University of Texas at Austin. They’ve shown works in both Texas and New York.
